Pierre's sculptural work becomes functional by incorporating lighting to his carved glass. LEDs were chosen because of their low power requirement and their low heat. They are used for edge-lighting the glass to pronounce the carving and to provide ambient lighting. The fixture can be modified in many ways: the sandblasted pattern can be customized into a repeating logo or any other shape or form; tiers can be added to the core of the unit and can be expanded to wider diameters.
